Boundary Community School is a locally based it training. The target
group for this project is short, medium and long term unemployed people
resident in the City Fringe (West of borough) catchment area of Tower
Hamlets, the vast majority of whom will come from ethnic minorities
given the high levels of social exclusion amongst this cohort. The
beneficiaries will also include single parents/people with carer responsibilities,
students who wants improve their IT skill, people that need training
in English/numeracy and those who require help with their CV preparation,
Completion of Job application form and Interview skills. For the first
four month from July-October 2000 the project will continue under
ESF Objective 3 Gap Guarantee Scheme. From October 2000, the project
aims to meet the policy fields of the New ESF Objective 3 in particular
promoting and improving training, education and counselling as part
of lifelong learning to improve access to the labour market, enhancing
employability, promoting job mobility and facilitating unemployed
people exposed to short, medium and long term unemployment by helping
them to compete effectively in the labour market and find and retain
jobs. |
